Duck Boat Parade to Honor Team's 18th NBA Title
Parade to Start at 11 AM on Friday, June 21
Boston, MA - The Boston Celtics are once again NBA champions, and the storied duck boat parade is returning to Boston's streets on Friday. Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that the rolling rally will start at 11 AM, honoring the team's 18th NBA title.
Sixteen years ago, on June 17, 2008, the Celtics last won the championship. The duck boat parade has become a tradition in Boston, celebrating the Celtics' success in the NBA Finals.
The Celtics closed out the Dallas Mavericks in five games to win the championship this year. It is the team's first title since 2008.
The parade will start at the TD Garden and travel through downtown Boston. The route will be announced closer to the date of the parade.
